This photograph follows the rule of thirds because the main subject isn't centered. The fence to the left leads your eye to the subjects in the middle, and when you follow the apples in the foreground in front of you, it leads back to the horse and person. The negative space is the empty white sky in the background, and the middle ground consists of the fence, the horse and person, and the tree.
I like the angle the photo was taken in and the curveture of the fence. The apples in the grass for the foreground make it really interesting but doesn't take away from the main subject. It helps lead your eye to the main subject. There is nothing I dislike about this picture.
